The attempt to order the disorderly determines our lives. Even in the greatest chaos we try to discover principles of order and make them useful for us. Where chaos reigns, we try to create our own systems. How else could we find our way through everyday life?
For “Chaosmos” composer Marc Sinan, author Tobias Rausch and director Konrad Kästner deal with our fear of chaos and with the nature of human systems of order, their meaning, their nonsense, their futility and the question of who they actually serve in the end.
The film version was created as a further development of a joint theatre project of Theater Bremen, Oper Halle and Oper Wuppertal, which premiered in Wuppertal in January 2020 as an opera for 4 soloists, orchestra and forklift trucks.
You can find out for yourself how much you need order with the film version of “Chaosmos”. You can watch the videos in chronological order, but also wildly jumbled in individual parts.
